To keep overheads (and prices) low, additional photography and assistance is provided by other suitably trained and qualified staff who are sub-contracted when necessary.

We are based near to Manchester. We work throughout the North West of England, Yorkshire and North Wales, but are more than happy to travel further afield by negotiation.
Brief biography:
After an early career in IT, Derek was appointed to introduce digital imaging to the Faculty of Science at The University of Manchester from 1994 to 1998.
He then spent a further ten years with the G.ten unit of the Faculty of Arts, working with the academic staff of the School of Art History & Archaeology (latterly SAHC) and the MSA (Manchester School of Architecture).
G.ten were photographers for the University’s cultural institutions (Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester Museum & John Rylands Library Special Collection) where digital imaging techniques were developed in an ongoing process of improving the quality and interpretation of a wide variety of artefacts. Numerous digitisation projects were developed after the initial set up of databases.
Insight Images was founded in 2008 as a freelance photography business and includes the teaching/tutoring role started in 2007...
