There are two
galleries - Ancient &
archaeology shows
ruins and pre-20th Century standing structures and
Modern
shows 20th and 21st Century
buildings.
I have been photographing architecture for stock images and
personal projects for many years. From 1998 to 2008 I
photographed architecture for staff teaching and projects
at the Manchester School of Architecture and the School of
Art History & Archaeology at The University of
Manchester.
I bring out the salient design and innovation features that
make the structure, its materials and its spaces unique. I
can photograph true elevations and show context and scale
by shooting wider images of the surrounding environment.
I prefer to work with natural light as my main source
whenever possible, showing the design as it was intended by
the architect, rather than imposing my own lighting ideas.
I choose the time of day when the light is just right to
capture the essence of the structure and spaces.
I shoot images at archival resolution, supplying images in
any size you require (from websites @ 80dpi, right up to
125mb images).
Creative options include panoramas (linear or 360 degrees);
photo-collage 'joiners'; and construction (or demolition)
time-lapse movies (shot in stages from a fixed point, then
joined together as a digital ‘slide-show’ movie).
I photographed Listed Buildings for English Heritage
1999-2002
I document both construction and finished structures (in
formal or abstract styles).
